Enrollment/ Admission

GENERAL GUIDELINES

It is the policy of the state to provide for a free and compulsory public elementary and a free public secondary education (D.O No. 44,s,1988). Comformably, the following shall be observed:

A. No Filipino pupil/student shall be refused admission, by reason of sex, creed, socio-economic status, racial or ethnic origin, political and other affiliation, in the public system. However, due to limited space in particular school some students may be referred to other public in a particular public schools preferably within the community or they may be referred to private schools under the educational service Contracting Scheme.

B. Admission to central schools and schools identified as leader school science or science and technology school shall be based on established criteria. (D.O. No. 44,s,.1988)

C. Section 6, RA 6655 provides that “the right of any student to avail of free public high school shall terminate if he fails for two (2) consecutive school years in the majority of the academic subjects in which he is enrolled during the course of his study unless such failure is due to some valid cause, “(D.O.No.44,s, 1988).
